At the end of the course, participants should be able to:

  • LO1: Explain the principles and regulations for drone flying in Singapore
  • LO2: Explain the features and functions of different types of drones and mounted cameras used in aerial photography and videography
  • LO3: Set up and operate a drone for photography and videography purposes
  • LO4: Apply aerial cinematography techniques in enhancing footage captured using the drone
  • LO5: Interpret detailed shot and flight plans to determine production styles and technical requirements
  • LO6: Comply with necessary local aviation and safety regulations and guidelines for the aerial shoot

What You’ll Learn

As drones become cheaper and more versatile through the years, aerial photography and videography with drones have also grown easier to carry out as compared to more traditional modes of aerial videography.

Increasingly, companies across many industry sectors are looking to grow in-house capabilities in drone photography and videography so that they could take videos and pictures serving a multitude of corporate purposes without having to engage expensive vendors.

This course will equip participants with the know-how to carry out aerial shoots using drones and capture aerial sequences according to technical and creative directions. The course will also cover the legal, operational and safety considerations behind the planning and executing of these shoots.

(Note: participants wanting to operate the drones for commercial purposes will still be required to attain an Unmanned Aerial Pilot Licence (UAPL) with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) even after attending this course.)

Minimum Entry Requirements

Learners should preferably be/possess:

  • At least 1 GCE ā€˜Nā€™ Level Pass
  • At least 1 year of working experience in any capacity
  • Able to speak, listen and read English at a proficiency level not lower than the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification Workplace Literacy Level (WPL Level 3)

Learners who do not qualify in terms of education but have the relevant working experience will be admitted on a case-by-case basis, subject to approval by the Management Representative (MR).


Statement of Attainment (SOA)

Participants who fulfil all requirements will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
